What is HWID and why change it?

HWID (Hardware ID) is the unique fingerprint of your PC: motherboard UUID, disk serials, network MAC addresses, Windows ProductID. People change it to stop a hardware identifier being used against them — to keep working after a mistaken or unfair ban, regain access to locked accounts and licenses, and protect privacy from cross-session fingerprinting.

What is the UID and where do I find it?

Your UID is a public identifier in the format XXX-XXX-XXX that links your device to its change balance and subscription. Open HWIDChanger - the UID is shown in the top row of the window; click it to copy. You need it for payments and support requests, and it is generated automatically on first launch.

Is this safe for my computer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The tool creates a backup of every changed parameter before each operation, kept with your device account so it is always available for rollback. Rollback is one click. No physical components are touched — we only modify software-level identifiers in the registry and volume metadata.

Which Windows versions are supported?

Accepted Answer

We support Windows 7 SP1, 8.1, 10 (all builds), 11 (incl. 24H2) and Windows Server 2016+, both x64 and ARM64. The tool needs administrator rights and will trigger a UAC prompt on launch.

Will changing HWID break my Windows activation?

Accepted Answer

It can. A digital (HWID) Windows license is tied to your hardware fingerprint, so changing the volume serial and MAC may require re-activation. Activations not bound to hardware are unaffected. If Windows asks to activate again, use Restore to roll back, or re-activate with your existing license or key.

Which identifiers does the tool actually change?

MachineGuid, HwProfileGuid, Windows ProductID, SQM MachineId, SusClientId, computer name and Tcpip hostname, MAC addresses of every physical network adapter, and NTFS volume serial numbers via direct write to the BPB at sector 0. Virtual adapters (TAP, WinTun, VMware, VBox, Hyper-V) are auto-excluded.

Can the HWID change be detected?

Be realistic - there is no full invisibility. HWIDChanger changes registry, disk-volume and MAC-level identifiers, which is what most software and trackers read. But some IDs live in firmware (SMBIOS UUID, BIOS serial) and are not modified by the standard change, so software that reads firmware directly can still see them. We do not claim the change is undetectable.

How do I change my HWID?

Download HwidChanger.exe, run it as administrator (UAC will prompt), and click "Change HWID" — the tool automatically saves a backup of the current state and applies fresh randomized values. Reboot afterwards so all processes pick up the new identifiers.

How do I restore the original HWID?

Accepted Answer

In the main window click "Restore" — a list of all previously saved backups appears with their timestamps. Pick one and confirm. Before applying the restore, the tool also snapshots the current state in case you need to roll forward again.

The app says my device is not recognized - what do I do?

Accepted Answer

HWIDChanger needs an internet connection and contact with our server to authorize your device. If you see "Device not recognized. Check your internet connection", the action buttons stay disabled. Check your connection - as soon as the server is reachable again, the device re-authorizes and the buttons unlock automatically.

How much does the subscription cost?

The subscription is $10 for 30 days or $50 for a year (60% saving). New devices get 3 free changes on first registration. Subscription unlocks unlimited changes, device profiles, and priority support. Alternative — pay $1 per single change.

We accept Stripe (Visa, MasterCard, UnionPay) and Telegram Stars directly inside our bot — convenient for users without a credit card. Every payment is bound to your device UID, so no website account or signup is required.

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Paid changes and subscriptions are a digital service. If you had a payment problem or bought by mistake, message our Telegram bot and we will review your case. Per our Terms, a change balance or subscription that has already been used is generally non-refundable.
